onarflex is a product which offers one of the most effective means possible to contain a building whose facade is about to undergo asbestos or lead remediation, or from which hazardous material is being removed. Using this unique product, Pinnacle crews can thoroughly enclose a work surface, completely preventing contaminants from reaching the surrounding environment during an abatement project.
During the renovation of a one-million-square-foot building in lower Manhattan, Pinnacle was contracted to remove asbestos weatherproofing from all exterior walls of the structure. The general contractor had erected a scaffold all around the building, and full containment of the project was called for, because the exterior was friable. Under normal circumstances and according to existing regulations, this would have meant creating a plywood-based enclosure. However, such a solution would have severely hampered the renovation construction schedule. Pinnacle obtained a variance from the Department of Environmental Protection to utilize Monarflex, supplemented by additional plastic materials instead of plywood for the containment. This innovative approach enabled us to contain the entire exterior at once rather than in sections. Using Monarflex, the enclosure took far less time to construct than plywood, and enabled renovation to continue on schedule.
