pecific industry guidelines and regulations determine the proper handling and disposal of various types of hazardous waste. An energy crisis in the New York area prompted the New York Power Authority to create a group of small energy stations under a state emergency plan to avoid power brown-out situations. In some cases, this meant renovating available facilities, which hadn't been used in many years. After being called in to clean up one such facility, Pinnacle discovered multiple environmental contamination issues — including asbestos roofing, asbestos-coated pipes, and mercury-containing controls on old equipment. Using double work shifts, we were able to remediate all environmental contaminants within one week, thereby enabling the new power station to be up and running in the shortest time possible.
