nce asbestos has been removed from a building framework, it has to be replaced. Specially trained Pinnacle technicians re-spray the entire building shell, including decking beams and columns, with new, non-asbestos fire-proofing material. Where appropriate, non-asbestos fire-resistant caulking is also applied to floor-to-floor pipe sleeves in order to seal each floor of the building against the potential spread of fire. Necessary repair procedures or asbestos removal involving water or steam conduits inevitably means that pipes require re-insulation. Pinnacle offers the experience to handle not only the repair and/or removal phase of a project, but also the expertise to immediately execute the next phase of providing new, non-asbestos insulation.
During a large renovation project at 9 West 57th Street in Manhattan, Pinnacle crews removed spray-on asbestos fire-proofing material from 6 floors of the building, sealed all openings with special fire-stopping caulking, and applied new, non-asbestos fire-proofing material — all within an extremely tight schedule, which had been predetermined by the renovation contractor.
